The day Sher Shah Suri defeated Humayun, and entered Delhi, he looked at his reflection in the mirror. He got upset when he saw his beard going gray. He must have thought that he had a lot planned for the future, but there doesn’t seem to be much time left. That’s why this King of Afghanistan got himself busy with development projects for India. In his 5 years of rule, he accomplished so much that we cannot even fathom it. He made roads, guest houses, wells, mosques, and courts. He established exemplary organizations for the implementation of law and order, land laws, farming, taxes, postal system, education, currency, and health. He also issued the first Rupiya, which is the precursor of the rupee we use today. He did all that in just a period of 60 months.

Sher Shah Road in Multan Cantt, Sher Shah Bridge and Sher Shah neighborhood in Kiamari Town of Karachi, and Sher Shah Park in Wah Cantt are all named in the honor of Sher Shah Suri.
