Stop Pimples In Their Track With The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil!

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil is a targeted treatment for acne and spots. According to the Body Shop‘s website, one bottle of their tea tree oil is sold every 8 seconds. Surely a product that sells out that fast must be delivering something?

Tea Tree Oil For Acne

When your pores are clogged by dead skin cells, dirt, oil, and bacteria, you get acne. If you have overactive oil glands, your skin is probably acne prone. Your lifestyle, genes, diet, hormones and stress levels play a major role in how your skin looks. Unfortunately, getting rid of acne can sometimes be a complicated process. That said, the process of achieving an acne free skin can be simplified if you figure out a regime that suits you, and stick to it.  In simple words, you need to reduce your stress levels, eat the right food, cut out the foods that break you out, drink plenty of fluids, and maintain hygiene. One of the products that many acne sufferers swear by is the tea tree oil.

Tea tree essential oil is known for its purifying properties. Tea tree oil is antibacterial, and it can kill the acne causing bacteria. Tea tree oil also dries out skin, so when applied on blemishes, it can suck out the pus and excess sebum. Tea tree oil is too strong to be used on its own, so it is recommended to dilute it before application.

I first bought the Body Shop Tea Tree Oil several years ago. I have bought it several times since then. I always bought the 10 ml one, but this time I bought the 20 ml one from Just4Girls.pk (an online makeup and beauty store in Pakistan). I bought it for 1, 890 PKR (18 USD). The 10 mil bottle costs 1, 250 PKR (11 USD) so for just an additional 640 rupees you are getting double the amount.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil is a targeted treatment. This means you are only supposed to apply it on your pimples. Do not apply it all over your face as it will unnecessarily dry out your whole face, which can increase sebum production. This is because when dried out, your skin will feel dehydrated, and will produce more oil. This can be a vicious cycle and can ultimately lead to a breakout. The Body Shop claims to source its tea tree oil from the foothills of Mount Kenya.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil’s Ingredients

How To Use Body Shop Tea Tree Oil

Wash your face and hands. Let it air dry. Apply one drop of the Body Shop Tea Tree Oil on each of your pimple using your finger tips or a cotton bud. Use twice a day for best results. You do not need to mix anything with it as it is already diluted.

Review

I do not think that the Body Shop Tea Tree Oil will work on its own for most acne sufferers. You must ensure that you have cut down all the foods that break you out, eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, try to control stress levels, and exercise if possible. I do not mean to discourage anyone, I am saying this from experience. I have noticed that the Body Shop Tea Tree Oil does not work so well for me when I am having a severe breakout or when I am not eating right. However, I like this tea tree oil as a preventive ingredient. I recommend this to people who have largely managed to bring acne under control but still suffer from occasional breakouts. The Body Shop Tea Tree oil is best for budding pimples, as it stops them in their tracks! Nowadays, I use this product after applying the Body Shop’s Tea Tree Skin Clearing Daily Solution which I also bought from Just4Girls.pk. So far, the duo seems to be working well. I will write a review on it once I am satisfied with the results.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil can sound pretty expensive, given its price. However, one bottle goes a long way as you do not need to use a lot of it. One downside, however, is the bottle’s design. You have to hold it in a certain way before the product comes out. Sometimes, it takes a while to come out, and very often more product comes out than you need. This leads to wastage, and it is frustrating, given the fact that this product is not cheap. I wish the Body Shop redesigns the bottle.

Overall, I think the Body Shop Tea Tree Oil can be an integral part of your acne fighting arsenal. It is a great product to shrink pimples and keep them at bay.
